If you know Jesus, then you are adopted into his family

Have you been rejected by your father, mother, husband, wife, children, or other family members? Have people told you that you are a worthless piece of crap and that’s why no one wants you?

If you are in Christ, write that down in your Lies People Tell Me journal.

This is what Jesus says:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:3-6)

Did your heart hear this? He said,

1. God chose you in Christ before he created the heavens and earth. Why? Ultimately for you to be set apart and without blame in your life with Jesus.

2. In love, it was God’s will that your destiny would be for him to adopt you as his child. God did this for his sake and through Jesus Christ in order to bring you to himself and into his family!

What is this adoption? It’s an act of God out of his free grace. You are brought into his family and you receive all the rights and privileges of being in his family.

3. Sometimes this is a very hard thing to grasp. It goes against what people say. It runs against the sad mantras of the world. It may be something you have never been told or experienced.

That is why God makes you more and more away of his love for you and his pleasure to have you as his own child. He says this here:

“Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit

of His Son into your hearts, crying Abba Father” (Galatians 4:6)

“The Spirit witnesses with our spirit that we are the children of God” (Romans 8:16)

4. If you are really God’s child, then these realities will become more and more clear:

– You will have saving faith in Christ (John 1:12-13)

-You will resemble our Father-God (1 John 3:2,3)

– You will know your Father’s voice (John 10:4)

– You will delight in your Father’s company because he delights in you (Romans 8:14)

- You will have a dear love for the Father that grows (1 John 5:1)

Be encouraged by how the Lord loves you with an eternal and unbreakable love, which brought you into his forever family. Be comforted knowing your place in God’s family as his royal child far exceeds any opinion others may have of you.

You are loved!
